Learn to Keep Yourself Safe in the Australian Waters

Living in Australia has many advantages: It is a beautiful country surrounded by sea, with a great variety of plant and animal life. However, every coin has two sides, and this is no different.

According to the Royal Life Saving National Drowning Report of 2015, 282 people drowned in 2015-16, reaching a five per cent increase since the year before. One fifth of the overall deaths were aged between 25 and 34 years old, and of that number, 83 per cent were men.

The most recent Royal Life Saving National Drowning Report of 2017 shows 291 people died as a result of drowning in Australia in the 2016/17 financial year. That's an increase of 3% comparing to 2015/16. The 25-34 year age group accounted for the highest number of drowning deaths (43 deaths), followed by people aged 45-54 years old (40 deaths).

Enjoy the natural gifts of the Australian aquatic environment

Australia is full of great places waiting to be discovered. In such an aquatic environment, unawareness of swimming is a major disadvantage.  Indeed, experiences such as swimming safely in wonderful beaches, being able to feel the underwater sensation or swimming next to dolphins cannot be described. You need to live them yourself. Give yourself the best present of all and allow your senses to fully enjoy the gifts of nature around you.
