1. Where do Nereids swim lessons take place?
Our private swim lessons are conducted at your location — not at ours.
We come to you. That means your home pool, apartment complex pool, or even ocean rock pools and netted beach areas across Sydney.
You don’t need to travel anywhere. Just choose the location that works for you, and we’ll be there.
2. I don’t have a home pool — can I still book with Nereids?
Absolutely.
Many of our students don’t have their own backyard pool — and that’s completely fine.
You have several options:
- Request access from a friend or family member
- Choose a natural location like an ocean rock pool or netted beach area
- Some of our teachers also have access to pools — ask us if one is available near you
- Hire a nearby home pool via Swimply
We’ll work with you to find the most convenient solution.
3. Which areas do you service?
We currently operate across all suburbs in the Sydney Metropolitan area.
Whether you're in the Inner West, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, Hills District, or Sutherland Shire — we likely have a swim teacher nearby.
Teacher availability may vary per area, so the more flexible your schedule is, the faster we can match you.
4. Do you teach at public pools or gyms?
No.
Due to council and facility regulations, external swim schools are not permitted to conduct lessons inside public pools or gyms.
Instead, we focus on personalised, private swim experiences — far from the noise and crowd of public facilities.
That’s part of what makes Nereids unique.
5. What types of pools do you teach in?
We teach anywhere that’s safe and suitable for a private lesson. Most students learn in:
- Backyard pools (heated or unheated)
- Apartment complex pools
- Swimply rental pools
- Ocean rock pools
- Netted beach areas
- Occasionally, teacher-access pools (case-by-case)
Wherever we teach, the experience remains one-on-one — focused, personal, and built around your rhythm.
6. What makes Nereids different from traditional swim schools?

7. Do I need to have any equipment ready?
Not really.
All you need is a swimsuit, a pair of goggles, and the decision to begin.
Our teachers bring everything else — from aquatic equipment to a calm, confident presence.
Sometimes, the only real gear is courage.
8. Can I do a trial lesson first?
We don’t offer single trials.
Our journey begins with a minimum of 6 lessons — because deep progress takes more than one dip.
That said, your trust is sacred.
If after your first lesson you feel something isn’t right, we’ll reassign your teacher or refund all unused credits.
We’re not here to lock you in contracts. We’re here to lead your transformation — into the water, and into yourself.
9. Is Nereids only for children?
Not at all.
We’ve taught swimmers from ages 3 to 84. Whether you're a cautious beginner or seeking refinement, our method adapts to the person, not the number.
Many of our adult students are people who never learned to swim or carry a fear of deep water. You are not alone.
Our signature adult programs, Nereus™ and Proteus™, are designed to help you reclaim the water — safely, privately, and at your pace.
Because water doesn’t belong to the fearless. It belongs to the ready.
10. Do you teach during winter?
Yes, we teach year-round — even when the wind bites.
If your pool is heated or indoors, lessons continue as normal.
Some families pause during winter and resume in spring. Others continue strong and maintain rhythm.
Because water doesn’t hibernate. And for many students, neither does growth.
11. Are lessons one-on-one or in groups?
All our lessons are private, one-on-one.
This is a choice we made with purpose. Because when trust, safety, and skill must align - you need all eyes on you. Not one instructor for five students.

12. Can I request a male or female teacher?
Yes — you can request.
We’ll do our best to honour your preference, depending on your location and our team’s availability.
But something beautiful often happens...
Parents ask for a female teacher — and end up adoring the calm strength of our male guardians.
Others request a man — and discover the fierce kindness of a woman’s presence.
At Nereids, we look beyond roles.
We match you with guardians of the water — regardless of gender.
Your Swim Teacher
1. What qualifications do your swim teachers have?
Every Nereids teacher holds:
- Australian swim teacher certification
- First Aid & CPR
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Clearance
But paper alone doesn’t make a guardian.
We look beyond credentials — and choose only those who teach with patience, care, and presence.
Because teaching isn’t just a skill. It’s a calling.
2. How are your teachers selected?
At Nereids, becoming a swim teacher is not just a job. It’s a rite of passage.
Each applicant passes through:
- A 3-stage interview process
- In-water technical and emotional assessments by our experienced mentors
- A final face-to-face evaluation in our Sydney CBD office
Those who pass are not simply hired.
They are initiated — mentored, trained, and shaped until they are no longer just swim instructors…
but Guardians of the Water — trusted by parents and adults.. and remembered by students.
3. Are your teachers employed or contractors?
All our teachers are employed by Nereids, not freelancers.
This means you’re protected by our multi-million dollar insurance, and your swim teacher is part of a real team — trained, accountable, and fully supported.
In a sea of casual contractors, this matters.
4. Can I request to change my teacher?
Absolutely — and we encourage you to speak up if something feels off.
We carefully match each student with a teacher aligned to their goals and energy.
But if the connection doesn’t feel right?
We’ll rematch you, or refund your unused lessons.
Because trust is not optional.
It is the foundation of progress.

5. Can I request a male or female teacher?
Yes — and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
But something beautiful happens when expectations dissolve...
Some parents ask for a female — and meet the calm strength of a male.
Others prefer a male — and find the radiant command of a female.
At Nereids, we don’t assign based on roles.
We pair you with those who carry the calling:
Guardians of the Water — chosen for their soul, not their gender.
6. How do I know if my teacher is a good fit?
You’ll know.
Because progress doesn’t lie.
Because your child or yourself will smile after each lesson.

But if something feels off, we’re here.
We don’t just assign you teachers.
We stand by them — and by you.. Until the end.. And beyond…
7. Will I have the same teacher throughout my lessons?
In most cases, yes.
We aim to assign you one consistent teacher from start to finish.
That rhythm matters — for trust, for progress, for flow.
However, life occasionally calls our teachers elsewhere.
When that happens, we transition you with care — and match you with someone who continues your journey with full alignment.
Your rhythm matters to us. Always.
8. What makes a Nereids teacher different?

1. What age groups do you teach?
From 3 years old and above — children, teens, and adults.
Our programs are based on your confidence and needs, not just your age.
2. How do I know which program is right for me or my child?
Every journey starts in a different place.
That’s why we guide you through a few simple questions when you enrol — including fears, goals, and swimming history.
From there, we suggest the program that best fits your path:
- Athena™ for children who fear the water
- Triton™ for foundational water safety
- Poseidon™ for confident swimmers who seek strength & skill
- Proteus™ for adults who want to learn or restart
- Nereus™ for adults who carry fear or trauma around deep water
No two swimmers are the same.
That’s why we don’t offer “levels” —
We offer the right starting point for your journey.
3. My child is afraid of putting their face underwater. Can you help?
Yes — and we will never push or rush.
Through our Athena™ Program , we guide children gently from fear to trust — using their natural instincts, not pressure.
Progress begins with trust.
And trust begins with being seen.
4. I’m an adult and I’ve never learned to swim. Is it too late?
It’s never too late.
Many of our adult swimmers come to us with fear, frustration, or trauma — especially those from cultures where swimming wasn’t common.
That’s why we created two paths:
– Proteus™— for adults who want to learn or restart, even from zero
– Nereus™— for those who carry fear of water, deep pools, or submersion
Private, patient, and adapted to your rhythm.
We help you reclaim the water — not by force, but by remembering you belong there.
5. Do you offer lessons for people with disabilities?
Yes — and not just lessons.
We offer presence. Adaptation. Respect.
Our teachers are trained to support swimmers with physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional needs — and most importantly, to see the person beyond the diagnosis.
In the water, labels dissolve.
What remains is movement, joy, and the will to grow.
6. What if my child already knows how to swim?
If your child is already confident in the water and can swim basic distances, we’ll guide them into our Poseidon™ Program(Sergey link) — focused on technique, strength, and endurance.
We honour where they are — and help them reach what’s next.
7. How long does it take to learn how to swim?
No swim school can promise a number.
But with trust, consistency, and the right guidance — you'll progress faster than you expect.
We teach in alignment with your natural rhythm, not a rigid schedule.
8. Do I have to start with freestyle?
Not at Nereids.
We begin with what suits your body and confidence — not with what’s “typical.”
Some start with breaststroke. Others with back kicking or dolphin motion.
Swimming isn’t a linear syllabus.
It’s a dialogue between your body and the water.
9. Can siblings or family members be taught together?
While every Nereids lesson is one-on-one, we can teach siblings or relatives during the same visit.
For example, a 90-minute session can be split between two children.
Each swimmer receives focused time — and every soul is seen and guided for their unique strengths.
10. Do you offer lessons for teens or competitive swimmers?
Yes — especially through our advanced Poseidon™ Pathway.
Whether they want to improve endurance, prepare for school carnivals, or sharpen technique —
we help them rise through coaching that honours both excellence and enjoyment.
We don’t train robots.
We awaken humans — strong in body, calm in mind, and free in the water.
11. Can I choose how many lessons I want in each program?
Yes.
Each program — from Athena™ to Proteus™ — is available in flexible Tiers:
Hestia™, Thetis™, Apollo™, and Zeus™.
These tiers allow you to choose the depth, intensity, and long-term vision that best fits your needs.
Whether you want a short transformation or to begin a mythic journey — the choice is yours.
12. Do you follow the same levels as public swim schools?
No.
We don’t support rigid systems.
We teach humans. And flexibility matters.
Our focus is not on ticking boxes — but on real confidence, safety, ability, and mastery.
That’s how real transformation happens —
Not by meeting checklists, but by meeting each swimmer where they are.
Booking & Scheduling
1. How do I book lessons?
You can either book a quick call or submit our Get Started form.
Both options serve one purpose: to understand your needs and suggest the right path for you or your child.
Once we receive your request, our team will be in touch shortly to confirm your details, understand your goals, and assign your swim teacher.
From there, we’ll offer available days and times — and once confirmed, you’ll receive a full welcome email with everything you need to begin.
Clear. Simple. Human. That’s how we do things.
2. How soon can I start?
It depends on teacher availability in your area.
Some families start within a few days. Others may wait a few weeks.
We’ll always be transparent — and once you’re booked in, you stay booked in.
3. How many lessons should I book?
We offer flexible Tiers for every program — from 6 to 36 lessons.
Your choice depends on your goals, your timeline, and your rhythm.
We’ll always guide you to choose the right path — with clarity, and without pressure.
4. Can I reschedule or cancel a lesson?
Yes — with at least 24 hours’ notice.
We offer up to three consecutive cancellations at no charge.
Need to pause or travel? You can do that too — we just ask for clear communication.
Because trust goes both ways.
5. Will I have the same teacher every time?
That’s always our goal.
We assign one dedicated teacher and aim for full consistency.
But life does happen.
If your teacher becomes unavailable, we’ll explain everything clearly and transition you with care.
Progress comes from trust. And trust comes from consistency.
6. Can I request a specific day or time?
Yes.
When you enquire, let us know your preferred days and times.
We’ll always do our best to match you with a teacher who fits your schedule and goals.
Some slots — especially weekday afternoons (3:30–5:30pm) and weekends — tend to fill quickly.
Booking early increases your chances of securing the rhythm that suits you best.
7. What happens if my teacher changes?
Sometimes life calls our teachers elsewhere — travel, study, or personal change.
When that happens, we transition you smoothly.
You’ll be informed, respected, and matched with a new teacher who continues your journey without disruption.
Trust doesn’t break. It adapts.
8. Can siblings or family members be taught during the same visit?
Yes — with individual attention.
For example, a 90-minute booking can be split between two children.
Each student receives focused time, and every soul is seen for their unique rhythm and strength.
9. Do lessons happen in all seasons?
Yes.
We operate year-round — summer, autumn, winter, spring.
Many families actually begin in winter to get ahead before the warm season.
If your pool is too cold, we can also recommend alternative options or warm-up strategies.
10. Can we pause our lessons if we’re travelling or sick?
Absolutely.
You can pause your lessons for holidays, illness, or family events.
Just let us know in advance — we’ll update your schedule and resume when you're ready.
Life happens. We flow with it.
11. What happens if it rains?
Light rain is usually fine — lessons continue. We’re already wet in the pool!
But if the weather becomes unsafe (like storms or lightning), your teacher will assess conditions in real time at your pool.
If it’s deemed unsafe, your lesson will be cancelled — and any remaining time will be distributed across your upcoming sessions.
Your safety comes first. Always.
12. Do I need to prepare anything before the first lesson?
Just bring your swimwear, goggles, a towel, and a great attitude to learn!
We’ll guide you through everything else.
Because the real preparation... is only the decision to begin.
Pricing & Peace of Mind
1. How does your pricing work?
We offer a tier-based pricing model — so you only pay for the depth and duration that suits your journey.
Every signature program (like Athena™, Triton™, Nereus™) is available in four Tiers:
Hestia™ (6 lessons), Thetis™ (12), Apollo™ (24), and Zeus™ (36).
Each tier reflects a different stage of the journey — from initial transformation to long-term mastery.
This isn’t about discounts. It’s about commitment, rhythm, and vision.
2. Can I see your full price list before I book?
Absolutely!
We believe in full transparency — no surprises, no hidden fees.
You’ll find our complete pricing on the Fees Page, including comparisons with public pools and casual freelancers.
Because clarity is power — and trust begins before the first lesson.
3. Do your prices change seasonally?
Our prices may increase occasionally (e.g. each winter) to reflect rising costs, higher demand, and teacher availability.
Returning clients are always given the chance to lock in the previous season’s rates before they change.
Loyalty matters — and we reward it.
4. What if I want to upgrade to a higher Tier later?
No problem at all!
If you complete one Tier (e.g. Thetis™ – 12 lessons) and want to go deeper (e.g. Apollo™ – 24 lessons), we’ll guide you through a seamless upgrade path.
Your progress continues without pause — and any remaining credit is adjusted accordingly.
Because every swimmer deserves space to grow, not limits.
5. Are there any extra fees I should know about?
Very rarely.
We only charge extra for specific logistics — like driving outside our core zones, parking fees around inner-city areas, or if you need to book a third-party venue (like a Swimply pool).
If you choose to pay for your swim lessons by credit card, there is a 2.25% surcharge — which can be avoided via bank transfer.
And if anything ever applies to your booking, you’ll always be informed beforehand..
No surprises. Ever.
6. What if I need a refund?
You can request a refund within 30 days of your first lesson, provided there’s a fair and reasonable reason (we may ask for basic documentation if needed).
If no lessons have been used, we’ll refund your remaining package — minus a small admin fee. Please note that any card surcharge is non-refundable.
After 30 days or once lessons have started, we can hold your remaining credit for future use — or transfer it to a family member.
Every request is handled personally, with care and fairness.
Because life happens. And peace of mind matters.
7. Is there a cost difference between children and adult lessons?
No — our pricing is based on the program and tier you choose, not your age.
Every student deserves the same quality of attention, skill, and transformation — whether they’re 3 or 63.
Transformation doesn’t discriminate by age. And neither do we.
8. Do I pay upfront or lesson-by-lesson?
We ask for full payment before your first lesson.
That commitment helps us reserve your teacher, your time slots, and the full support experience — without interruptions or confusion.

9. Can I upgrade my Tier after starting?
Yes — and it happens often.
If you begin with Hestia™ or Thetis™ and later decide to deepen your journey, you can upgrade to Apollo™ or Zeus™.
We’ll credit the unused value of your current package toward the next tier.

10. Do you offer discounts or free trials?
No.
Our pricing reflects the care and consistency we bring to every student. We don’t focus on gimmicks — but on progress, trust, and long-term transformation.
